The FAQ Document for the Ndaga Muntu Case

The Ndaga Muntu case, jointly filed on April 25, 2022, by HEAPI in collaboration with the Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER) and Unwanted Witness (UW) against the Attorney General of Uganda and the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), is significant for its focus on the impact of requiring the mandatory use of national ID as the primary form of identification for vulnerable individuals accessing health services in public health facilities. This case is particularly relevant given the challenges of Uganda’s evolving digital ID infrastructure.

The attached FAQ document aims to clarify the involved parties and their interests, as well as provide updates on the case’s progress, including evidence presentation, expert interventions, and written submissions.
