Policy Initiative

HEAPI is an indigenous NGO established in 2016 with the intent to promote and advocate for better healthcare for the most vulnerable people in Uganda. HEAPI promotes environmental justice, health and human rights through strategic/public interest litigation. HEAPI is also committed to observe and analyse trends in the health sector thereupon propose policy improvements in a bid to reduce health inequalities in Uganda.

What We Do

  • Research on the right to health and environmental justice
  • Empower individuals, communities and duty bearers with health and human rights information.
  • Reduce health inequalities through access to justice mechanisms.
  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders to address the underlying determinants of health.
